Wow ! What a dump. Way more snow than anyone expected ! I went to bed thinking 5 max and woke up to a big smile 
It was basically a 30cm day with the 24hr snowfall – a heavy, wet snow below mid-mountain but progressively better the higher your elevation. Snow off the Peak chair and 7th Heaven was really nice – deep powder !! I had a few good ‘charging’ lines with a couple of face shots thrown in for good luck
I had one of my top runs ever in the Bagel Bowl – DEEP and even the top of 7th Heaven had a nice layer of snow (first time this year).
By the end of the day, the freezing level had risen, resulting in the lower mountain being a nice soft slush snow. The upper was still awesome but the mid-mountain had suffered with the snow becoming REALLY heavy.
So, I had quite a few great powder runs, and by the time I was skiing out, my legs were tired enough to not care about mid level – and then I really enjoyed the slush at the bottom. VERY good / easy snow to ski on. (Not slush like spring time – just a really soft snow)
One of those days that makes me glad I live in Whistler.
The forecast is for another snowfall tonight, maybe up to 10cm at the Peak In fact it looks like there could be a bit of snow over the coming week. Good times ahead.
P.S – I don’t think the Blackcomb Glacier opened today – so that should be epic tomorrow !!

Glacier chair opened today but not sure about the t-bars up there.
T-bars opened, but as of 1:30-2pm the Blackcomb Glacier itself was still closed – Spankys opened though.

Just arrived tonight…. heavy rain all the way up from Van, turning to snow just about the town limits.
Looking forward to some great sliding….. a bit worried that it might be a bit heavy on the legs having only had one day on snow this season (and that was November 1st)
We were here this time last year and the town seems very quiet by comparison… or is it just a quiet Monday night after a good days skiing

Pictures! Pictures! Please! Some of us are staring out the window of our office tower ready to jump, and hope the wind gust lands me at the base of Blackcomb with snowboard in hand.
Just home from a week last week. Wall to wall sunshine (most un-Whistler like!) and excellent skiing. No new snow but the runs were just fine and the gladed skiing was great fun – although Pruned Paradise was showing so much we christened it un-pruned paradise! Did trash the skis on the first day on some exposed rocks…. rentals do have their advantages. Bit jealous of the new snow, though….. we’ll be back.

I have done more damage to my skis this season than the last 5 combined
David in Scotland – the mountains are empty and the village is bare. I am sure the visitor numbers are down, and down a lot over normal.
This is awesome for you, as we have some great snow conditions right now, and you don’t have to wait in a lift line.
Looks like the snow pulled through. Have been getting more and more stoked on the way to the weekend. Looking forward to getting over there.
