Parking

Currently the municipality offers both metered and limited time parking in various places around the village. Metered parking is patrolled from 10am to 9pm seven days a week. Underground parking beside the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre is free for 3 hours and parking in the Village North is free for up to 2 hours. This is set to change -

‘Quote from a RMOW statement’ – Effective November 17, 2009 The revised plan includes rate changes for municipally-owned parking stalls on Main Street, the Whistler Public Library, the surface lots and the first two levels of the Conference Centre. It also adds user-pay parking to the Municipal Hall parking lot.
Rates for Main Street, the Whistler Public Library, the Municipal Hall parking lot, the Conference Centre surface lot and the first two levels of the Conference Centre’s underground lot will be $1 for the first hour, $2 for the second, $2 for the third and $4 for the fourth. Originally the Conference Centre rate was set at $2 an hour for a maximum of three hours. The only changes to rates in the other locations is that the rates increase incrementally with the number of hours, with the first hour staying at the rate of $1.
The Conference Centre underground lot will also have a $5 evening rate between 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. Hours of enforcement will remain between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. for on-street parking while enforcement at the Conference Centre will move to 24/7.

The day lots in Whistler are free all year round, although there are plans for this to change to paid parking once the lots are paved. Currently some are paved and the others are being paved, I expect the paid parking to come into effect after the Olympics. They are situated a short walk from the Blackcomb and Whistler Mountain lifts and the Village. There is also a 1200 multi-level underground car parkade located in Creekside, for a 2 minute walk to the Creekside gondola. No overnight camping is allowed in the parking lots. If you are parked overnight, you will be ticketed and towed. The only exception is for over-height vehicles or people on overnight / multi-day hikes in Garibaldi Park, then you must park in Lot 4 next to the posted signage. No pass is required at the moment.

The Marketplace parking lot (where the IGA food market is) is privately owned and offers free parking for two hours. The two hour limit is strictly enforced !

Most hotels offer registered guests and visitors underground parking (for a fee).

Street parking is permissible at times. Winter parking regulations are in effect November 1 through March 31. Parking on the EVEN side of the street is prohibited Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is to allow snow ploughs to clear the streets. There is no parking on the ODD side of the street at any time, year round. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and towed.
