Big Weekend

March 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

Saturday morning was epic, 15cm or so of fresh snow that was light and dry. The freezing level which had been rather high on Friday, dropped overnight down to the valley. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the snow and while there was a very dense cloud layer around mid-mountain, once you got above that, the sun was shining brightly.

Due to a friend leaving today, last night was a rather messy affair and I spent most of the day recovering. There was no new snow, but the temperatures remained low which means the snow would have stayed great.

The freezing level is still in the valley, and currently it is snowing ever so lightly. The forecast for tonight is for a few cm’s followed by another 5 - 10 cm tomorrow.  Awesome !

Looks like a few sunny days mid-week with a system due to hit us again next weekend :)
