Bluebird day for start of Gay Pride week

February 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Gay Pride week in Whistler started off today with a beautiful bluebird day. The snow is awesome and the weather forecast looks great, so the organizers must be very happy. Today there was plenty of fresh snow to be cut up, since the visibility was so good, you could safely go and find all the stuff left over from the last snowfall.

Today Blackcomb mountain also hosted a Junior Big Air contest, and  a Junior speed camp for Super G ( I think ) training. I have attached a picture of one of the contestants in the Big Air.

Snow Report:

No new snow, and 41cm in the last 7 days. Snow base is 233 cm. Temperatures still hovering around -10 Celsius over most of the mountain.  The current snow forecast is predicting approximately 25 - 40 cm over the next few days with the majority of it arriving at the start of the system sometime on Tuesday.
