Quick Update as I didn’t ski yesterday or today. Instead I went to the bobsleigh track to watch the World Cup action.

Yesterday had a slight accumulation overnight (3cm), and had a real foggy morning – but it ‘burnt’ off pretty quickly and ended up being a bright, sunny day. Would’ve been nice up there.

Today is still clear but a little more cloudy, with no new snow. The visibility should be decent. I expect the snow quality to still be really good, as the temperatures have hovered around the just below zero mark.

Bobsleigh bumping the walls

I have really enjoyed watching the Bobsleigh and Skeleton – they sure do go fast. I still want a go, but would be happy to hop in the back of a bob with an experienced driver first (unlike my old visions of just having a go myself).

For information about the World Cup Event – head over to http://www.whistlerbobsleighskeleton.com/

So far the Canadians have performed really well – Mens Skeleton – 1st and 3rd
Womens Skeleton – 9th and 10th
Womens Bobsleigh – 2nd and 4th
Mens 2 Man Bobsleigh – 3rd and 4th
Mens 4 Man Bobsleigh – 4th and 14th

Great news for the Canadian sliding team – lets hope they repeat (or better) these results next year during the Olympics.

    Thanks!

I really want to head over tonight. I have my brother visiting from Toronto and I think it’d be really cool to check out, but I hear that it’s sold out. Do you know if it’s still possible to get tickets or am I s.o.l.?

Either way, I think I’ll try and go. There must be a scalper or something.

    Nice video :)

Umm… so this is what some people have been complaining / worrying about? This place is amazing! Just got off the mountain for our first day and had a blast. I’m no expert but the snow seems good to me. Sure you find some ice here or there, but I don’t think very much and I certainly couldn’t have cared less. Light was super flat around Symphony leading to some embarrassing moments, but what a great day.

I guess we must be spoilt compared to the European resorts.
