Fun in the Sun

January 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

Another day of fun ripping up the groomers at Whistler Blackcomb. The runs are in awesome condition, and the snow is great - a lot softer then you would think considering how cold it is. I am presuming the all the sun is helping that, plus the fact that we have an inversion, and the temperatures at the top of the mountains isn’t really cold at all. While the bluebird days are fun, everyone is looking forward to the weekend since we have a forecast of snow. Powder days are the bomb !

Snow Report:

Snow base is 219cm. Alpine temperatures around -4 Celsius while the village is around -8 during the mornings and night, creeping slightly higher during the days.

The avalanche advisory has downgraded all terrain to ‘Low’ however it still warns that the snow pack is variable, and large slides are still possible.
