Another great day in the sun. Not much (officially) in the way of new snow, but still plenty of powder to be found. I guess the freezing level was around the height of Pig Alley (the recording station on Whistler) because there was a lot more than 1cm above the treeline, and nothing below it.

I managed a few runs around Harmony and Peak zones, then ended with a groomed Peak to Creeker. I was surprised at how busy it (P2C) was, especially since the rest of the mountain was empty (skiing onto chairs).

Basically the off piste powder was great, with only a few aspects having a slight crust to it. I had some nice fresh turns on T-Bar roll and Upper Grand Finale, both had patches of untouched snow large enough for 3/4 turns. The cut up stuff was fairly soft, just a little inconsistent……

The groomed runs (mid to upper mountain) are in fantastic shape, they don’t get much better. Soft snow, smooth grooming, empty runs and good coverage = good skiing. Especially in the sunshine we had today.

I was really pleased with the snow quality in the valley, I figured it would’ve been ruined by the rain. It is not as nice as the top of the mountain, definitely harder packed and a few ‘cookies’ from the grooming but still fun.

    Hey,

I am the seller of the lift tickets, and I GREATLY appreciate you posting the link on your blog. Unfortunately, the link directs to some lodging, not the lift tickets. If you could revise that, or put the correct link in your next post, that would be great. And this is a no reserve auction. They sell for whatever they sell for.

    Hi Ken, small world eh!

I am not sure about the link, because when I click on it, it takes me to your eBay auction. Can anyone else verify it is going to the wrong auction?

No problems about the mention, I am often scanning the net and figured it was an auction that someone would be able to benefit from.

Ya, the link took me to the correct auction.
