From the email I received
Gates open at 4:30 pm (Pacific Time) on all 15 nights of Whistler Victory Ceremonies. The night of entertainment starts with a DJ and interactive games for the crowd, followed by a live simulcast of the nightly provincial and territorial pre-show held at BC Place in Vancouver. At 7:00 pm, the medals ceremonies will be held for the winning athletes of the day at Whistler-area venues, followed 30 minutes later by that night’s headlining act. The ceremony will end at approximately 8:30 pm.
Also, according to the email from VANOC, starting January 4th, 2010, there will be a contest on whistler.com to give away tickets to the medal ceremonies. It sounds like it is only open to local residents, living between Squamish to Mount Currie – just like the recent chance to buy tickets to the events. Tickets won in this contest must be picked up at the Main Ticket Centre in Whistler by January 31. The Main Ticket Centre is located near the Brewhouse on the village stroll.
Which reminds me to remind you, anyone entitled to medal ceremony tickets from the ‘locals only’ event ticket registration, you must pick up those tickets by December 31st.
Lastly, what is with these Olympic Rings? Either they are going to try and convince people these are the ‘green’ Olympics, or someone made a mistake
Update: Heard a rumor that Greenday might be the mystery band on the 22nd – but don’t quote me on that !

The picture of the green Olympic rings. Does anyone else think it looks like they are being held up by a giant cigarette?
