This post is for yesterday, my first day skiing in around 2 weeks!!
It was great to get back onto the mountain for myself, instead of just hearing about it from other people. It was basically a bluebird day, with only a few patches of clouds/fog around. I spent the day on Blackcomb, and skied the glacier, 7th Heaven and Crystal zone, finding great snow everywhere. Not much in the way of fresh stuff, as it hasn’t snowed for about a week, but I did manage to find a couple of clumps.
The groomers are in amazing condition, and the off piste is soft enough to be fun (although a little bumpy). 7th Heaven in the sun, with smooth groomers and no one around is something you don’t soon forget.
Lift lines were non-existent as you can see in these 2 photos from around midday –
I was surprised to see Heaven Basin (normally a mogul minefield) had been groomed. Although it is hard to see in this shot
Lastly, here they are preparing the jump for the ‘Fire and Ice show’, which normally happens every Sunday night, but will be nightly during the Olympics.
Today is looking cloudy, so hopefully we will get a bit of fresh snow

Looking good, I’m at the airport waiting for my bus to Whistler
Welcome back Michelle, cya soon
Today, Friday 5th, was unexpectedly awesome.
The reported 3cm was more like 8, and there was no, noooo one, around. 5 laps through untouched on 7th, followed by cougar shoots made for a good morning before work.
Good to hear!
