Snow!

February 28th, 2008 · No Comments

The snow is back! Whistler got 7cm in last 2 days, and the forecast is for another 15 - 20 cm tomorrow. The freezing level will be hovering around the 1000m mark and rising up to a maximum (hopefully) of 1500m. So it will be snow above the treeline, with a mix of rain and snow below it. Currently the snow is in great shape, with many happy faces on the mountain today. Those smiles are sure to get bigger in the next few days, as we are expecting another dump of 15 - 20cm on Monday. So good times ahead :)

Snow base is 231cm. Temperatures are quite warm, around -3 at the coldest. The winds have been low, although we will most likely experience some high winds with this oncoming system.
