Snow in the Alpine

They are reporting 15cm of snow overnight, and it has been raining all morning in the valley. The temperatures in the alpine are just cold enough for snow, so there could be a total of 20-25cm of new snow up there right now.

At the time of writing (noon), the alpine lifts are still closed. It appears there are some high winds, and also a high avalanche risk so they might not be able to open them (Glacier Express and 7th Heaven) at all today.

With more snow expected over the next 2/3 days, and the winds lessening – there will be some nice skiing up there once they allow access.

Snow in australia
With early snow falls in Australia Mt Buller opened its Holden Express chair lift for Autumn Skiing. an amazing thing here in Australia, i went up for a ski and im now looking forward to the start of our ski season in 5 weeks.
hope the MTB season goes well

I’m so jealous. I’d love to make out back out there, but I’m back east for a few weeks. I was falling in love with the spring skiing and i miss it.

There’s NO snow anywhere to be seen around Toronto. However, there is still a 10 high pile at the base of niagara falls.
