I thought you might like to know that it is currently a mixture and snow and rain in the valley. Has been for an hour or two, so there might be some decent skiing on the mountains.

    Aloha,

Came up to Vancouver on business, am heading up to Whistler today (4/24), any idea if the riding is good? I don’t like icy but slush is fun!

    Mahalo!

Hey there. I just found your blog for the first time. Thank you. Hope you keep up with it, especially next season. My husband and I were on Blackcomb last Thur Apr 23. It was such a beautiful, sunny day, but fairly crisp and windy. The runs were pretty challenging – lots of icy, hardpack underneath about 2 cm of softer, melting snow. It was still a great day! Had so much fun, once I got used to skiing on conrete. It actually got much better in the afternoon when the mountain softened up a bit. Looking forward to going up a few more times in May. Skiing isn’t over for me yet!

I skied at Blackcomb today. It was phenomenal. 22 cm of new snow. When we started to ski out close to 3:30, it was starting to snow again. If you can make it to Whistler this week, I highly recommend it! It was magical to be skiing in all that new snow on May 6! PS. I am so tired right now. It was hard work skiing in all that deep stuff – not very often do you get that, and with so few people up there, it doesn’t get “groomed” down by all the skiers/boarders. It was also powder on the heavy side, of course, as the temps are fairly mild this time of year.
